BIO

Bernie Aldape has lived in the Southeast Houston area his entire life. He attended South Houston High School. He received a Government degree from the University of Texas at Austin where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Prior to completing his bachelor degree, Aldape enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and is a proud veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom II. 

He attended law school at Thurgood Marshall School of Law here in Houston, Texas where he graduated with a certificate in Governmental Law. Aldape also spent time studying comparative criminal law at the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town, South Africa. After law school, Aldape served as Chief of Staff to Texas State Representative Bobby Guerra (McAllen) during the 83rd Legislative Session in Austin, Texas. 

Aldape enjoys giving back to his community and serves on the board of the City of Houston Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) 15 for East Downtown and is a former board member of the Houston Hispanic Forum. Aldape Legal PLLC is a member of the Southbelt and Pasadena Chambers of Commerce. Aldape has also served as the Presiding Municipal Judge of the City of South Houston, Texas since 2017. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and in the District of Columbia (Washington D.C.)
